Design Warehouse has been distributing teak patio furniture in the New Zealand for over 18 years. Viro, the largest global producer of all-weather wicker for the medium to high-end market, weaves core green values into the fabric of the company’s business philosophy- a philosophy built on the foundation of a triple bottom line approach that includes environmental, social and fiscal responsibility.
Committed to collaboration with designers wanting to use greener materials, Viro is 100% HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), which means it is non-toxic and recyclable. It does not contain any plasticizer unlike PVC. Through intensive quality control Viro Fibre meets ISO 9001-2000 system standards.
Viro Fibre is also environmentally friendly- it is long-lasting and 100% recyclable. Its durability is evidenced by its weather resistance and, in particular, its highly tested ability to withstand UV rays.
No toxic chemicals are needed to maintain the product – it cleans easily with mild soap and water and is pest and fungus-free. Besides its commitment to the environment, Viro also contributes to Indonesia’s regional economy.
With Viro’s use of the latest extrusion technology, the company requires a highly trained labour force. Drawing from the local population and providing fair labour conditions and continuous training, Viro plays a role in building community and creating a cottage industry. This enhances Indonesia’s economy and reduces illegal logging and deforestation, which can accompany the production of natural rattan. Viro fibres are through-dyed giving colour saturation through the whole strand not just the surface like may other manufacturers ensuring years of natural colour with no fading or chipping of the dye after a few months of use.
OUTDOOR COLLECTIONS WEAVERS
The weavers hand-weave the fibre onto our aluminum frames. We are fortunate our weavers are from Indonesia, as they are known world-wide as being the best. As a company we have manufactured our teak in Indonesia for over 25 years, and are aware that the best, most experienced weavers come from Indonesia. This traditional process has been handed down from generation to generation. All of our products are hand-woven. Typically, a dining chair can take one to one and a half days to weave; a sofa can take up to three days to weave.

BATYLINE® by OUTDOOR COLLECTIONS
Batyline mesh is a French made material. It is an extremely durable and high quality material consisting of a polyester fibre covered by a coating of PVC, making it nearly impossible to tear. It is 100% synthetic and resistant to rot and mildew. It is highly resistant to UV radiation and fading, although like all materials left outdoors, slight discolouration is unavoidable over time. The membrane is flame retardant, although the material can melt near a heat source (i.e. from a cigarette burn). It can withstand temperature extremes, ranging from -30 degrees Celsius (-22 Fahrenheit) to 70 degrees Celsius (158 Fahrenheit). Direct contact against heat lamps, lights or other heat sources should be avoided.
The flexibility of material is ideal for clients wishing to avoid the need for cushions.
Also, its resilient properties make it an ideal material to be near swimming pools or other aggressive environments with chlorine or salt water.
Sagging is minimal as it has a maximum stretch of 3%. It also has a memory – it will slowly regain its original shape after it has been used, especially when placed out in the sun.
Avoid sharp objects from coming in contact with the material, as it can be cut.
Under the manufacturer’s ‘Texyloop’ recycling process, the high quality of Batyline has allowed for it to be reused in numerous industrial applications.
To clean, simply wash mesh, with a mild natural soap (such as liquid dish detergent) and fresh water, using a soft bristle brush. Rinse and dry with a cloth, to avoid water stains from setting on the stainless steel frames.
Baytline fabrics dry very quickly because of their open structure.
STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless Steel is selected because of its inherent corrosion resistance, workability and its attractive appearance. Regular maintenance and cleaning of all types of stainless steel is required to keep these attractive attributes. Stainless steel must be kept clean for a long material life. We have sourced a reliable supply of 316 stainless steel that we use on our high-end furniture. This is a rare find in the outdoor furniture industry. We bring this to you and the unbeatable wholesale prices that no-one can match.
Selection of the correct type of stainless steel for the environment is a necessary prerequisite. Swimming pool and beachfront areas generally require higher grade #316 stainless steel. Dirty, smoggy or industrial environments will require more frequent cleaning programs as will high humidity marine environments. Strong bleaches and chloride based cleaners should not be used on #304 stainless steel. To keep the original appearance stainless steel must be cleaned when it looks dirty.
For outdoor use, clean every 6-12 months (or when necessary). Treat it like your car!
For routine cleaning ph neutral soap and water is sufficient applied with a sponge or cloth.
Fingerprints are best removed using 3M stainless steel cleaner.
Stains and discolouration generally require the use of a Scotchbrite® pad to brighten the material and then the application of a cleaner such as 3M stainless steel cleaner to help protect the stainless steel.
POWDER-COATED ALUMINUM
Powder coated aluminum is an aluminum based construction material that is commonly used in the manufacture of outdoor furniture. The powder coating on the aluminum helps to enhance the ability of the metal to resist corrosion and damage from the elements. This property of the material helps to make powder coated aluminum deal for outdoor furniture.
Cleaning usually involves washing occasionally with a soft sponge and a mild soap. Many people will use an automotive spray-on wax once or twice a year. This may help keep with keeping the finish looking brand new.
Do not use abrasive cleaners.

INDOOR RECLAIMED TEAK AND ACCESSORIES
To maintain our immaculate reputation, it is our responsibility to produce the indoor range to the same high quality and design standards as we have done for over 18 years with our outdoor ranges. The marketplace shows indoor furniture in hundreds of woods, but only a small percentage uses solid, high-quality teak for the indoors. This is caused by the high cost, and declining availability, of teak wood. Because of our long history in Indonesia, and our excellent reputation as manufacturers for over 18 years, we have the contacts and secure relationships to insure continual availability of new and reclaimed solid teak.
Our designers have produced a new range of tables and buffets using only solid reclaimed teak, featuring clean & rustic European country designs.
Along with the teak tables, we have a range of buffets – made of solid reclaimed teak – to complement any indoor space.
We are also introducing a line of indoor dining chairs. These chairs are made in the Lloyd fashion, to complement our range of teak tables. All of our indoor dining and lounge chairs include canvas seat cushions.
